Q: Can I make posts on Faith Defenders?
A: Faith Defenders is made up of two seperate sections; the main website here and the Community Forum. All of these facilities are based on the interaction of our members, however membership is only given at the approval of our administration team, in order to safeguard the interests of those who are already members. If you would like to register as a member, please fill out the contact form at the bottom of this page, letting us know that you would like to become a member. Upon being granted membership, you will be given access to all both sections of the site, with the ability to make new posts on each, as often as you desire to do so.
On the main website anyone is allowed to make comments on any existing posts, simply by clicking the “leave a comment” link at the foot of each post. To do so will require you to leave your name and a valid email address, but this nothing further is required. All comments are held for moderation purposes, but providing they are not offensive, they will be published as soon as possible.
Q: What subject matter can I post on?
A: Although you will find posting guidelines on the community forum, you can pretty much post articles about any subject. However we will not tolerate postings that insult someone personally, or promote doctrines that are against the authority of Scripture. We understand there are areas of our faith that are open to debate, and this type of debate is invited on sections of the forum. However this debate must remain based in love, and should any discussions enter into the realm of personal insult, they will be blocked immediately.
Overall we have tried, through the various section of the site network, to provide a platform to share openly with one another, that we may encourage, support, and inspire one another to seek out the truth of God’s Word, and live by it in our daily lives. We also aim to encourage an attitude of worship and adoration, expressed personally through poetry, song and literature.
Q: How do I post youTube videos?
The easiest way to post youTube videos is to simply place the URL of the video in the post, and insert a ‘v’ immediately after the ‘http’ section of the address. (e.g. httpv://youtubeaddress) . This method will display the video directly in the post itself.
If you desire to, you can instead enter the URL of the video in the “add media” section of the post editor, which will allow the video to have a seperate player, and also will include the video directly in the Faith Defenders podcast channel.
Q: Can I post only an introduction text with a link to the full article at the end of the text?
A: When you write a post that is lengthy, you can split the post to show only a portion of the post on the front page by using the “insert more” icon on the editor tool bar. It is found to the left of the “spell check” icon, and looks like two blocks seperated by a horizontal dashed line. Wherever you want to split the post, place the cursor and then hit this icon. The post will now appear on the front page with a “Read Full Article” link at the end of the introduction text.
Q: Can I help promote Faith Defenders?
A: The greatest thing that you can do to promote Faith Defenders, is to make use of the sites in the way intended, and grow spiritually mature as you do.
