My Deepest Thanks.

When Geno and I started up Faith Defenders some time ago now, although we had an idea what we were trying to acheive, we had no particular plans how we were going to acheive it. There seemed to be an initial burst of energy that kick started the whole thing, but to be totally honest, what would be the outcome could have been anyone’s guess.

Since that time there have been quite a few dramas, some people have come and some have gone, and yet at the core of all that we have been doing, the Lord has seemed to have cemented us strongly together in the unity of His Spirit. We have never attempted to “make things happen” ourselves, and if anything, in many ways by striving to provide a place of peace and sanctuary for those in our fellowship, we have probably done God no favours in making the numbers grow! However through it all, God seems to have graciously and even magnificently, provided such a sense of fellowship as to be truly astounding to me. So obviously, first and foremost, my thanks and praise goes to Him above all.

With that said however, I cannot ignore the effects that some of the regular members have had in this ministry, all great, and all from a willing heart. It is for this reason I would like to publicly and personally offer my appreciation to all. Firstly I would like to thank Geno who, even though for reasons of his own seems to no longer participate with us, his desire to be obedient to the Lord in this calling is the thing that got the ball rolling in the first place. Next I would like to thank Steph and Andy, who almost from day one appeared out of nowhere, and had such a sense of willing servanthood, it has been quite overwhelming. Without Steph’s willingness to help out with administration and generally acting as an excellent host in awkward times on the forum, we all would have fallen flat on our face. And without the skills and willingness of Andy to take on the maintenance and designing of every part of our sites, we would still have the general mish mash I attempted at the beginning. I would also like to point out a few other faithful members by name too, for it is there input that has played such a large part in causing us all to grow in our knowledge of the Word of God, and as a result our faith in Christ to become much stronger now than at the outset. Tim (IWantTheTruth), Bruce, Graham, and Mark, thank you very much for your support over the past year, your input has been greatly appreciated, and has been a great blessing to me personally. What’s more, I even found out that the mysterious “M” stood for Mark! I realise there have been others along the way, both new and old, who are very much appreciated too, but I really believe the guys above have played such an integral part in Faith Defenders, it would be insulting not to make that fact known.

Anyway, enough rambling, and just let me finish by praying the Lord would bless each one here greatly, that we would continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ our Lord, and bring great glory to His name.

Happy New Year Everyone! :)

  • My dear John, It has been a joy to be part of this ministry, and continues to be so. The Lord has without doubt, brought us all together for our good and ultimately for His glory.

I am sure others along with myself, have learned so much over this past year firstly about the Lord, and about each other too. The fellowship we find here has been a source of immeasurable joy to me and to the Lord again, I give thanks.

I so look forward to this next year and am in anticipation of what the Lord is going to do with our lives for Him.
    Bless you, dear brother
    Steph :-D
